Why probiotics and prebiotics are important for our body?
Probiotics are “good” bacteria that help keep your digestive system healthy by controlling growth of harmful bacteria. Prebiotics are carbohydrates that cannot be digested by the human body. They are food for probiotics.
Do you know where is probiotic’s “home”? YES!! Probiotics live in yogurt, other dairy products and pills. In our body, probiotics live in our colon. So, what are prebiotics for? They help your good bacteria grow, improving the good-to-bad bacteria ratio. But where can you find prebiotic? It’s easy if you know where to look. It’s been said before that Prebiotics are carbohydrates that cannot be digested by the human body. So where is it? Of course it is in fruits and vegetables. Fruit and vegetables contain fibers which can’t be digested by our body.
Why probiotics and prebiotics are important for our body or digestion system? The healthy bacteria that live there strengthen the bowel wall, improve mineral absorption and aid in the regulation of hormone production and prebiotics fertilize these good bacteria as they stifle production of the bad and disease-causing bacteria.
Talking about fiber. Fibers that have to be consumed are more or less 25 grams a day for female and 38 grams for male. But fiber consumption is depend on your age, ok this will be a lil bit confusing guys so I’m sorry if it’s not clear hehe. Consumption of fiber is (your age + 5 until 10)grams. So for example, I’m 18 years old. I have to consume (18+5)grams or 23 grams of fiber everyday. You can add more actually, for example my age is 18 so I can consume fiber (18+10)grams or 28 grams per day.
That’s why consuming dairy products and fibers are very important because not only for our digestion system but also for our hormone production.
I hope this post help you to understand more how important probiotics and prebiotics are for our body. See you again on my next post guys. Take care, stay healthy, live healthy and bye :)
